The Great 5th Lelung Rinpoche was prophesied by Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava, 8th Century) to become the holder of the Sangwa Yeshe (Wisdom Dakini) teachings, the female form of Chenrezig.

In his time, he was a crucial figure for both the religious and political systems in tibet.  In 1728 the armies from the Tsang region marched to Ü to topple the government. With civil war looming, thanks to his wisdom and negotiation skills, the 5th Lelung brought about a peaceful resolution, saving the lives of tens of thousands of people.

Today the 11th Lelung Rinpoche is dedicated to work in a similar way to help resolve the conflicts that exist between people and nations in the modern world. His vision for Shide will enable him to achieve these aims.
